Born in Brooklyn, New York, Michael was raised in Coney Island, and attended P.S. 90, I.S. 303, Brooklyn Technical High School and the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he was named to the dean's list and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. Prior to graduating from the University at Buffalo, Michael returned to Coney Island each summer and worked on, and eventually managed several successful campaigns for public office, and then joined the prestigious New York State Assembly Intern program, and from there went to work in the New York State Legislature as the assistant to the then legislative director to the Speaker Pro Tempore of the Assembly, Ivan Lafayette. After graduating from college, Michael returned to Southern Brooklyn where he worked on the re-election campaign of a high profile Member of the City Council, and afterwards went to work for then Assemblywoman Adele Cohen as a community liaison, and was quickly promoted to be her Director of Community Relations. Returning to school, Michael left government to attend New York Law School where he was elected as a Senator of the Student Bar Association for two years and as Treasurer during his final year when he was responsible for SBA annual budget. At New York Law School Michael was named to the Deans List with high honors, was selected to receive the Sony Foundation of America Scholarship and the Alumni Association Scholarship, and graduated Cum Laude. Michael lives in the Town of Poughkeepsie with his wife, Jessica, and their two daughters, Madison and Kennedy. As an attorney, Michael has represented numerous small business owners, homeowners, contractors, developers, condominium and cooperative boards in their commercial landlord-tenant disputes, contract drafting, negotiations and disputes, corporate governance, elections and disputes, construction contract drafting, negotiations and disputes, including mechanic's lien foreclosures, bringing and defending against personal injury and property damage claims,as well as their claims against their title and liability insurance carriers when they refuse to provide coverage, as well as many other aspects of their commercial transaction, counseling and litigation needs. Michael is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Brooklyn Bar Association, and the Dutchess County Bar Association.
