RicNic is a genuine youth theatre company - a unique social enterprise where young people really do get to run the show. Every summer, we run projects for 16 to 21 year olds which culminate in these young teams mounting a full musical production - from scratch. Every single role – from the director to the dancers to the designers to the drummer – is undertaken by a young person. Our participants frequently call RicNic a ‘life‑changing experience’ which allows them to nurture a passion for the creative arts as well as develop skills in leadership, teamwork and communication. Best of all, participation is absolutely free. For fifteen years, RicNic has run these award-winning courses; hundreds of young people, alongside thousands of audience members and supporters, have benefited from our unique ethos. We currently operate three branches (RicNic Hampshire, RicNic Oxford and RicNic London) alongside other one-off projects, and are planning an ambitious expansion. RicNic is a small, young charity, and we rely on the generosity of our donors to make the above possible. As such we recently launched our first 'official' donations scheme, which has been designed to allow all our valued supporters the chance to become a part of the RicNic family. There are varying tiers of membership - Balcony, Dress Circle, Front Row and Royal Box - each of which come with different 'perks'. Learn more at: http://www.ricnic.org.uk/friends-scheme.html If you'd like to be involved in RicNic's future - whether as a participant, a volunteer, or a donor - we'd love to hear from you. Please visit www.ricnic.org.uk/support-us or drop us a line via contact@ricnic.org.uk.
