The African Heritage Institute, Inc. promotes pride in the rich cultural heritage of people of African descent through knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of Africa’s place in world history. Its purposes are to heal the trauma of slavery by reconnecting Africans across the diaspora with their culture; preserve indigenous African cultural heritage through collaborations with organizations and educational justice initiatives; and, to promote cultural sustainability by: 1. Exposing children and youth of African descent in the diaspora, and those of other backgrounds to authentic African history, culture and traditions through African heritage programs and projects. 2. Connecting Africans of all ages to the legacy of their history and culture. 3. Helping women and girls of African descent fund their business initiatives and educational opportunities.
