In the fall of 2000, the camp community learned that the Wilson family planned to sell their ranch. Rallying to save TVRC, several dedicated camp alumni and parents, conceived the idea of forming a nonprofit Education Foundation to save the inspiring traditions and extraordinary access that Teton Valley Ranch Camp offered the world. A few months after filing on December 26, 2000, TVRC-EF received 501(c)(3) nonprofit status from the IRS. TVRC Education Foundation now runs its summertime program on our 2,300 acres of fully owned land at the Crooked Creek Ranch in Dubois, Wyoming. The Ranch is located close to the continental divide, and on the edge of the Bridger-Teton and Shoshone National Forests. Our organization enjoys access to Grand Teton National Park through a highly coveted permit that makes us one of two organizations able to lead children on trips in one of America's most beautiful and inspiring landscapes. All of our Campers enjoy 30 days, either in Boys' Season, or Girls' Season, on the Ranch, and on the trail building lasting friendships, forging tenacity and resilience, and developing independence. All of this experienced 100% technology free! Each Camper experiences an extended backpacking trip, and a four-day horse packing trip during their month-long adventure! Our staff, and professional outfitters are trained and experienced professionals who lead small groups out into the backcountry.
