Write To Be
www.writetobe.orgWe believe that all girls deserve opportunities and resources to develop independence and agency in their own lives and in turn, embrace active and impactful roles in their communities. Through positive relationships, educational support, skills training, and community engagement, we create a framework for self-discovery and empowerment that equips girls with the tools to be fearless authors of their lives. WRITE TO BE HAS TWO PROGRAMS: Fi Ki Fò (meaning “strong girl” in Haitian Kreyol): With the support of local partners, girls ages 11-18 participate in a program led by Haitian women focused on self-identity, healthy relationships, mentorship, professional life, and society. Fanm Ki Fò (meaning “strong woman” in Haitian Kreyol): The Fanm Ki Fò Fund provides cash grants for emergency assistance, healthcare, housing, and education so girls and women can climb over the barriers they face in transitions to adulthood. Girls in Haiti face barriers to education, health, wellbeing, and employment. Can you imagine all the creativity, innovation, humor, and kindness that is missed when girls and women are held back from building the lives, communities, and country they dream of? At Write to Be, we envision a world where girls realize their full potential, are empowered agents of positive change, and the world recognizes their value.
