CIMV
www.cimv.frThe biorefinery process developed by CIMV (Compagnie Industrielle de la Matière Végétale) is a concrete alternative to the challenges posed by the end of fossil products. CIMV technology promotes the non-food part of a wide range of renewable lignocellulosic resources (cereal straw, sugarcane bagasse, fibrous plants or hardwoods), placing it in perfect synergy with the food issues, creating added-value bioproducts. The use of these by-products makes it possible to coexist food and non-food production from the same agricultural sector, while preserving cultivable land. CIMV technology is today protected by 14 families of patents, filed in strategic sectors worldwide. It allows for a clean separation, without degradation, of all components of the lignocellulosic biomass. Out of this process, 3 products of interest are obtained: • Biolignin™: phenolic polymer with linear structure and low molecular weight • Cellulose • Pentose sugar syrup (xylose monomers and oligomers) CIMV participates in various collaborative European research and development programs supported by the European Commission, pooling the expertise and skills of partners for the development of biorefineries and new biobased products. CIMV plays a key role in these programs thanks to its disruptive technology. Currently, CIMV is positioned as a natural intermediary between the agricultural sector and the 2G Industry. This ambition is expressed by the development of more and more innovative solutions and efficient alternatives for the Industrial sector.
