The Oxford Forum is a student-run organisation which encourages discourse and debate within Oxford, allowing students to engage with a diverse range of issues. We host speakers from a variety of backgrounds as well as providing a platform for joint events, involving a number of student societies. This platform allows each organisation to drive maximum traffic to their events and provides an opportunity for student societies to network with one another. Furthermore, co-hosting encourages a diversity of speakers, creating a politically engaging and neutral sphere for attendees. In order to support this discourse, we focus on hosting panel debates where facts and opinions can be discussed in an open environment. Our panel debates and speaker events give attendees the unique chance to meet speakers for a drinks reception and dinner. This provides an opportunity for guests to learn from and discuss with leading experts and policy makers. In addition, we host regular student debates on a range of subjects. This offers participants a chance to engage intellectually with their peers and consequently not only hear from highly regarded speakers, but also express their own opinions on thought-provoking and contentious issues. We regularly hold socials, which are all co-hosted with other societies, to encourage interconnectivity in Oxford's social scene as well.
