Center for Independent Thought
www.centerforindependentthought.orgCIT serves as the parent foundation for Stossel TV and Stossel in the Classroom. John Stossel came to prominence as an anchor on ABC’s 20/20. He then moved to Fox Business Channel to host the weekly show "STOSSEL." Now John and his team produce weekly videos available on social media. The videos examine the intended and unintended consequences of government regulation and spending, and promote liberty and free enterprise. Stossel won 19 Emmy Awards and was honored five times for excellence in consumer reporting by the National Press Club. Other honors include the George Polk Award for Outstanding Local Reporting and the George Foster Peabody Award. Stossel in the Classroom provides teachers and young people with compelling videos for streaming and downloading, along with discussion guides. These videos play a crucial role in ensuring that young Americans understand the principles and benefits of a free society. Our "Both Sides of the Issue" series, help teachers present balanced lessons on the topics that John Stossel addresses. Our goal is to provide students with different viewpoints and encourage open discussion and critical thinking. Every Both Sides of the Issue pairing includes a list of discussion questions, so it’s never been easier to get the conversation started.
