Bertelmann GmbH - Lichtwerbung & Werbetechnik
www.bertelmann.deThe origins of the BERTELMANN company go back to 1945: defective light bulbs were not thrown away but repaired - today, this is hardly imaginable! They were sent to Bünde from all over Germany. Here the glass body was carefully opened and the filament replaced. The result: a small glass tip and shining eyes of the customers. The founding father, Ernst BERTELMANN, had the right solution for difficult times. When the economy picked up again and mass production began, it was time to set new priorities in the BERTELMANN company: As the business of the 50's was increasingly focused on outdoor advertising, the company BERTELMANN developed into BERTELMANN Neon GmbH in 1953, a medium-sized company specialising in the production and sale of illuminated advertising (today illuminated advertising installations). Enquiries from Bünde, Bad Oeynhausen, Herford, Minden and the OWL region quickly followed. The company was successfully continued by the 2nd generation Herbert Mailänder and his wife Christel, née Bertelmann, and finally passed on to the 3rd generation in the 1980s: Their sons Achim and Ulrich Mailänder took over the company and developed it into a specialist company operating nationwide and in nearby European countries. At the beginning of the 80s, the trained banker Achim Mailänder and the trained metal mechanic Ulrich Mailänder became part of the renowned family business. Today the 4th generation is already represented by Christina Ebmeier, daughter of Ulrich Mailänder, and Johannes Mailänder, son of Achim Mailänder. Since 2016 the team has been supported by a new external managing director with over 20 years of experience in the industry: Gregor Giataganas was a business partner for many years and has also joined the company as a shareholder since 2019.
