We can’t tell you about the Live Hard Movement without telling you a little about Ian James. He was 14 when he took his own life. He was one of the most vibrant boys we have ever known. He had this insane ability to have deep meaningful connections with everyone he met. He was special. He was loved deeply by an army of best friends old and new. He was a rare combination of artistic talent and crazy athletic abilities. Ian was always up for the next new adventure he would hike the local hills and climb the tallest bridges to find the best place to take pictures. You will find me most often describing him as the coolest kid. Ian’s choice to end his precious life leaves us with forever heartbreak, confusion and questions. The grief is still heavy and it rages throughout the community that we live in. Ian left us a legacy. In his writing, in his last message, he directed us to adventure and take risks and above all Live Hard. Through his loving message he has helped us create The Live Hard Movement. Live Hard is dedicated to providing love and light within the darkness of those affected by the depth of depression and suicide.
