The Orlando Neighborhood Improvement Corporation (ONIC)
www.orlandoneighborhood.orgMission To be the leader in Central Florida in providing stable, thriving communities of opportunity through quality, affordable housing, with engaged residents in a service- enriched environment Vision Healthy neighborhoods of opportunity with quality, affordable housing, a diversity of incomes and housing types, and access to adequate services, activities, and facilities. Theory of Change People in stable, affordable, & service-enriched housing are healthier, perform better in their jobs and in school, and consume fewer public resources. Stable housing improves individual lives and communities, saves taxpayer money, and creates wealth. Resident Services Program ONIC’s theory of change surmises that providing roofs and walls is not sufficient to constitute stable, thriving communities and therefore, has streamlined its operations to continue its robust resident services program (RSP) in order to meet its mission of providing stable, thriving communities of opportunity through quality, affordable housing, with engaged residents in a service-enriched environment. The goal of RSP is to provide opportunities consisting of comprehensive services, activities, and programs for residents, using the adaptive strategies of Prosperity building, youth academic enrichment and cultural arts; promote housing stability, community engagement, and asset building where families can transform their lives. With RSP as the community building strategy, it successfully implements activities and programs for effective youth and adult engagement, leadership development, with community building and volunteer opportunities. The expected outcomes for RSP include satisfied, involved, resilient residents building healthy, stable communities.
