YouthAdvance Australia – Open Award Centre is an independent organisation who offers a range of services in support of The Duke Of Edinburgh’s International Award YouthAdvance Australia – Open Award Centre is available to young Australians between the age of 14 and 25 wishing to complete the Award but who are not associated with an Award Unit that currently coordinates the Award. This service is also available to school students whose current program is limited in numbers or for those that have graduated but are still wishing to complete the Award. Our YouthAdvance Award Leaders works closely with Awardees to help guide them through their Award journey and to also ensure that all relevant checks and process are in place as stipulated by the Award Handbook along with state or territory requirements. When you register to do your Award with YouthAdvance, your are assign you to a team member who will be your Award Leader from start to finish. Your Award Leader will help you get started, provide advice on the sections of the Award, provide links to the community and be your main point of contact at any time. Your Award Leader will firstly work with you to develop an Award Plan and check that your proposed activities fit within the Award framework and durations. For those under the age of 18, your Award Leader will also perform the required checks on your volunteer Assessors & Supervisors. Several Adventurous Journeys options for each level are available throughout the year allowing you flexibility in choosing activities along with locations and dates to meet your needs.
