Chapman Design is an interior design firm based in Houston, Texas. Founded in 1985, the firm has grown to a staff of ten, including two senior and two junior designers. Founder Cathy Chapman holds a BA in Art History from Vanderbilt University and studied at the New York School of Interior Design. Chapman Design’s style emphasizes comfort and “livability” while reflecting each client’s individual personality. Cathy’s design philosophy incorporates the effective use of light, space, and color to create a simple, elegant and inviting home. A mixture of new and old elements is a common thread throughout her timeless interiors. Chapman Design is also known for its attention to detail in every aspect of a project, and sensitivity to schedule and budget. Commitment to excellence has led to consistent growth almost exclusively via word-of-mouth: over the years, Chapman Design has decorated residences ranging from Texas homes to Manhattan apartments, from a beach house on Fire Island to a mountain cabin in Wyoming.
