Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts
www.jasouthernma.orgJunior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. We serve the 21 cities and towns that make up Southern Massachusetts, giving local students the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their futures, and make smart academic and economic choices. Through an extensive network of more than 275 volunteers we provide free education programs to students in kindergarten through twelfth grade which focus on the key content areas of financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship. More and more superintendents, principals, and teachers are requesting our programs in their schools because they know that our work not only enhances student engagement in the traditional areas of study such as math and science, but also covers critically important topics that are often left out of the standard school curriculum portfolio such as how to manage money, how to get a job, how to start a business, and how to be a good community member. In partnership with the education and business communities, JA is transforming the student experience by bringing relevance, authenticity, and application into everyday learning to energize students around academics and their future possibilities. Together we will empower the next generation with the knowledge, capacity, and motivation to thrive; to build a better future for themselves and their community.
