The Pacific Technical Assistance Mechanism Phase 2 (PACTAM2) is an Australian Government initiative funded through its official aid agency, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and managed by Scope Global. PACTAM2 advisers work in collaboration with partner organisations in Pacific island countries. Advisers’ contributions support the achievement of partner government development outcomes and reflect the priorities of Australia’s aid investment plan in each country. Advisers work in a wide range of sectors including health, education, governance, environment, agriculture, finance and infrastructure. Each adviser position is unique, is designed to reflect the development objectives of each country, and to meet an identified need for technical assistance where specialist skills are not locally available. This long-term investment enhances people-to-people links in the Pacific by sharing the expertise of PACTAM2 advisers, their partner governments and regional organisations.
