The Mission of Midwest Bio-Systems (MBS) is to supply the needs of the emerging sustainable agriculture market with the knowledge and equipment needed to produce and apply high quality humus compost economically to improve and implement sustainable growing practices. MBS, founded in 1993, started manufacturing compost turners for the large scale production of humified compost, the backbone of many sustainable agricultural fertility programs. The mission of Midwest Bio Systems is to play a part in improving the quality and nutritional value of food by teaching sustainable agricultural techniques, providing the tools that insure grower success, and teaching the production methods that produce humus compost fertilizer in an environmentally responsible manner. The wisdom of integrating humus compost production and application into large production farming, as well as smaller growing systems, has been demonstrated to improve soil fertility, enhance crop health and vigor, reduce water requirements, reduce pest and disease infestation, and lower crop production costs. MBS continues to research and apply improved methods of humus compost production with balanced nutrients and microbial inoculants in countries around the globe, advising growers with tailor-made recommendations to create high quality humus compost using the agricultural residues, animal waste, and organic matter locally available in their specific crop environments.
