MUSC College of Nursing is one of six colleges that make up the Medical University of South Carolina located in Charleston, South Carolina. We educate more than 600 students each year who earn baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees and matriculate more Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Ph.D. students than any other nursing school in S.C. Nearly half of our nursing students receive their education and training entirely through our academically and technologically advanced online program. U.S. News & World Report consistently ranks our online graduate nursing program one of the top in the country. Currently, our Family Nurse Practitioner online program is ranked No. 5 in the U.S. We also boast the country’s only DNP degree with a palliative care concentration. The college also possesses a strong nursing research program that ranks in the top 30 in funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) among nursing colleges across the country. With more than $9.2 million secured in total funding last year, the college is the highest-ranked college of nursing in S.C. and the third-highest in the southeast in federal research funding. Our researchers proudly contribute through collaborations with colleagues across MUSC's campus in being recognized as one of the top 100 universities in the country for funding with over $284 million in sponsored research, including $135 from the NIH.
