Leeds Baby Bank was set up as the founders and trustees realised there was a gap in the support offered to families with younger children when they were using food banks. The Founders and Trustees of the Leeds Baby Bank are Chantal Nogbou (Accupuncturist and certified Doula) Faye Freeman (University of Leeds graduate) and Louise Hannon (University of Leeds graduate). They found that most food banks offer items such as pasta and tins but lacked in essential items for families with young children, such as; formula, baby food, nappies, soaps, sanitary products for mum and wipes. This is where Leeds Baby Bank can help and why we focus on helping on 0-5 yrs. We also can provide clothing, bedding, Moses baskets, cots, prams, high chairs. There is a list on our website of what we can provide. We are a use us once service by referral from external agencies and we offer support to families in a crisis. The charity is run and founded wholly by volunteers whom fit this around their own work and family commitments for their passion for relief of childhood poverty.
