The Guardian Princess Alliance is an organization committed to educating and empowering children to make a difference in the world. It is a division of S.T.R.O.N.G. Edutainment, which stands for Stories That Root Our Next Generation, a non-profit that creates literature and media that will guide and inspire readers to protect the people and the planet for future generations. The naming of S.T.R.O.N.G. Edutainment marks our plans to expand to other platforms and feature positive models of masculinity in our stories. Our mission began as an initiative to transform the traditional representation of the princess. We believe that both the dominant and implicit messages of the traditional princesses have negative repercussions on children, especially girls. Rather than rejecting the culture altogether, the Guardian Princesses model compassion and strength, and demonstrate the power of knowledge and collective action. The Guardian Princesses offer an alternative to the "traditional princess story." Rather than focus on external beauty or a romantic male figure, these princesses prioritize loving and protecting their people, their animal-friends and other living beings. They model compassion, intelligence, the power of knowledge and collective action. The Guardian Princesses aim to shift the focus of girls’ self-esteem and self-worth. They encourage children’s empowerment through their full development, promoting both their independence and a deeper understanding of the vital interdependence between people and other living beings.
