Partnership for American Democracy
www.pfad.usThe Partnership for American Democracy is marshalling support to strengthen our democracy. We focus on: Civic education - because our democracy is stronger when all high school students graduate with the skills, knowledge and the disposition to become engaged citizens. National service and civic engagement - because our democracy is stronger when many of us, especially young people, serve our communities and one another. Bridging divides - because our democracy is stronger when we see each others’ humanity, beyond politics or ideology. Advancing government reforms - because our democracy is stronger when voting is accessible and secure, when congressional districts are fairly drawn and when big money doesn’t dominate policy making. Combatting mis- and disinformation - because our democracy is stronger when high quality journalism sets the public debate, and we can all agree on a common set of facts. These five pillars of democratic renewal come together under the Partnership for American Democracy to bring greater public awareness to the threats facing our democracy, and to magnify support for the organizations working to save it. Practitioners across the field already know what work needs to be done; we create connections across the pillars, and build alliances with a broad range of influencers across sectors, backgrounds, and political ideologies to amplify their impact. We’re assembling a collective voice for change to build a movement from this pivotal moment in America’s story, with the commitment to strengthening a more inclusive, enduring American democracy.
