SOFAB is a student-run non-profit organization based at The University of Manchester that is open to every student from all backgrounds, degrees, and ages. In partnership with large corporations and Manchester Business School, we offer an insight into the business world for our members. What makes us different from other university societies is that we want our members to start building their careers through networking, training and work experience. We offer valuable information on how to get internships, graduate schemes, and postgraduate programmes. Our goal is to bring together ambitious students who aspire for success and aid them in developing the skills necessary to thrive in the current economic climate. SOFAB currently has over 850 members. However, with additional sponsorship, we are hoping to increase this number to 1,000 next year by cross-marketing into other fields of study. This year, we are aiming to be the largest finance society in The University of Manchester. Our aim is to organise events that will inform our members not just how to get offered an internship or placement, but how to succeed once in that position. We believe that The University of Manchester provides an enormous pool of like-minded people that all share a similar objective of success and we as a society would like to begin connecting these people together.
