PolyCycl

PolyCycl provides circular economy solutions aimed at addressing one of the biggest pain points in the field of waste management – the challenge of recycling ‘unrecyclable’ waste plastics. Working across 150+ man-years of R&D, the company has developed novel technology solutions for advanced recycling and purification of landfill waste plastics. Such solutions focus on two approaches. The first approach involves a closed loop conversion of mixed polyolefin plastics to liquid hydrocarbon feedstocks that are approved for manufacturing of new plastics. The second approach focuses on upcycling hard-to-recycle plastics using solvent dissolution methods to recover decontaminated and purified resin. The company’s technology landscape includes:  Contiflow Cracker – Recycling of mixed waste plastics to liquid fuels and petrochemical feedstock that enable circularity of plastics. The technology deploys high-capacity, fully-continuous modular lines that allow up to 50% reduction on capital and operational costs.  MLPCycl - Recycling of brand-agnostic multi laminate packaging (MLP) films using delamination, de-metallization, de-inking and resin-segregation methods.  PETCycl - Solvent based purification of post-consumer rigid and flexible PET to remove colorants, dyestuffs, additives and to recover purified PET.  PECycl – Solvent based purification of post-consumer rigid and flexible PE to remove colorants, dyestuffs, additives and to recover purified PE from a MRF PE stream.  TetraPakCycl - Recycling of Tetrapak Poly-Al for extraction of PE and Aluminium separately. Globally, with almost 60% of plastics being dumped to landfills, such technologies offer the environmental benefit of landfill diversion, while also providing a pathway for closed–loop chemical recycling of waste plastics and generation of low-carbon fuels.
