Training Institute for Medical Emergencies and Rescue
www.timeremt.comABOUT OUR EMT TRAINING IN STATEN ISLAND, NY Finding reliable emergency medical technicians can be a hassle. You want your technicians to be trained and prepared when an emergency happens. That’s why we provide comprehensive Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) training in Staten Island, NY. For more than 39 years, we’ve been striving to ensure all EMTs are ready to go into the field! Founded by Monte Posner in 1980, we began as a small group of Regional Emergency Medical Services Council (REMSCO) teachers before New York State started its official instructor curriculum. From there, we eventually evolved into an organization of knowledgeable instructors known as the Training Institute for Medical Emergencies and Rescue (TIMER). With that change, we retained some of our long-term staff, some left to follow their own paths, and we gained new trainers. OUR HISTORY Six years after our founding TIMER, Monte Posner took on the role of Executive Director and was granted Authorized Sponsor Status by the New York State Department of Health. Our senior REMSCO instructors were grandfathered in as state instructors, and TIMER began teaching EMT and CPR courses on its own. From 1989 to 1990, we moved to the St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center’s Bayley Seton Hospital Campus in State Island, where we remained until 2004. As our faculty grew, we began branching out to teach other topics in emergency medicine and pre-hospital care. When the hospital closed, we moved to the South Beach Psychiatric Center to conduct our comprehensive EMT training. Today we operate out of the Oakwood Heights Community Church, teaching a broad array of classes and conducting NYS certification exams. Reach out now to enroll and find out more information about our EMT training programs!
