Established in 2011 by Ardy Akhzari, Packs for Cold Backs is expanding its operation in both the Sacramento and Phoenix areas in an effort to make the holiday seasons a little brighter for the homeless community. Through backpacks filled with clothing, toiletries, and food, we aim to give a little comfort to the homeless throughout the year. Please check out our 2018 brochure below as well! http://packsforcoldbacks.org/Standard_Brochure.pdf Defining principles of our organization: 1. Service above Self: In order to reach a successful place in life, we have all been helped by those around us in our families, friends, and surrounding communities. Therefore, it is our responsibility to serve others who need a helping hand without an expectation of an award. Our motivation here at Packs for Cold Packs is the service on its own merit. 2. Passion: By having a privileged life, we are passionate about helping supplant the daily problems experienced by the homeless during the cold winter months by providing everyday necessities. By seeing the adversity in our own communities during our childhood, we here at Packs for Cold Backs strongly believe in giving back to the less fortunate in our community. We here at Packs for Cold Backs are committed to expanding our outreach in the community in order to help the homeless. Through clothing, toiletries, and food, we hope to ease the worries of those who have minimal options other than the streets. Officially an 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Packs for Cold Backs strives to give comfort to those that have been forgotten during what can be the most difficult times of the year. “Only way to make a difference is to actually do something.”
