The Social Capital Foundation
www.socialcapital.isThe Social Capital Foundation (TSCF) is an independent institution, free of any established political or economic interest. It does not receive support from governments, nor does it contribute to their funding. It is not for profit and not linked with any commercial interest. Created in 2002, it is based in the Brussels area, Belgium. TSCF pursues the promotion of Social Capital. Social Capital is about revitalizing the community link, and can be defined as a set of mental dispositions and attitudes favoring cooperative behaviors within society. TSCF's orientation emphasizes the necessary social dimension of the market economy, the pivotal role of the middle class in modern society, the necessity for improvement of social cooperation and participation, the autonomous development of a vibrant civil society, and the preservation of cultural identity for community integration. TSCF supports approaches that contribute to re-orientating governmental policies, corporate policies, and personal behaviors on a daily basis, in order to ensure the development of Social Capital. It does this through consulting, training, coaching, teaching, research, publications, events, and by any means that may illuminate appropriate responses to the challenges and transformations of today's society. TSCF is an editor of innovative research, in particular through The International Scope®Review, one of the most international peer-reviewed academic journals in the social and economic sciences, and the more policy-oriented Policy Futures collection.
