Better with Coffee A simple idea: that everything, from your mornings to your meetings to the way you end your day, is better with coffee. How about with great coffee? This has been the bedrock principle behind Ristretto Roasters. That if you source the best beans, roast them to perfection, and have friendly people serve that coffee in gorgeous environments, you’re going to make people’s lives better. And you do this every day. Making life better starts at origin. Ristretto founder Din Johnson sources all our coffees, working directly with farmers in Brazil, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Colombia and other countries, paying above-market prices, and taking as much care and pride in the roasting as farmers do in the growing. We meticulously roast our coffees at our roastery near Portland’s Rose Quarter; we craft them and cup them and find what we are loving now. We have our baristas come in and tell us what they think and keep learning about coffee; their enthusiasm and curiosity keeps the company churning. Then we get the coffee to our customers, at four Ristretto Roasters cafes in metro Portland, and wholesale accounts throughout the northwest, and mail-order customers across the country.
