TEDxHaarlem provides a stage to those speakers who refuse to close their eyes and address local and global issues that deserve our attention. Speakers who inspire us with their knowledge and vision. Whether it’ll be in science, politics, culture, economics, ecological or social conventions. It’s time to take a good look at how the world is changing and decide what we can do to take part in an idea that is worth spreading.This year TEDxHaarlem will have his fifth anniversary. This year we will organize an even bigger, better, stunning event at the end of 2016. About TED TED is a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with the annual TED Conference in Long Beach, California, and the TEDGlobal conference in Oxford UK, TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Program, the new TEDx community program, this year’s TEDIndia Conference and the annual TED Prize. What happens at a TEDx event In the spirit of “Ideas Worth Spreading,” TEDx is a program that enables schools, businesses, libraries or just groups of friends to enjoy a TED-like experience through events they themselves organize, design and host. We’re supporting approved organizers by offering a free toolset that includes detailed advice, the right to use recorded TEDTalks, promotion on our site, connection to other organizers, and a little piece of our brand in the form of the TEDx label.
