The Laboratory of Photogrammetry of the School of Rural and Surveying Engineering of NTUA was founded in 1962 and has significant educational and research activity worldwide. The staff of the Laboratory consists of 4 members of the Teaching Staff, 3 members of the Laboratory Teaching Staff, while researchers and postgraduate students are also active. All members are scientifically acclaimed in the international scientific community, with a large number of publications and heterogeneous reports, having high scientific training and many years of experience in scientific areas of Photogrammetry and Computer Vision, which are at the forefront of technology. The laboratory provides 6 courses at the undergraduate studies at the School of Rural & Surveying Engineering and, at the same time, participates in various postgraduate programs with courses and lectures. The general philosophy of the research work of the Laboratory of Photogrammetry is to produce new knowledge and to train and support young researchers in the theoretical and practical subjects of Photogrammetry and Computer Vision, through basic and applied research. In particular, the research interests of the members of the Laboratory are focused on: 3D Reconstuction and Mapping using Computer Vision Algorithms on Aerial, Satellite, Terrestrial and Underwater Imagery, 3D Reconstuction and Mapping using LIDAR and SAR data, Classification, detection and segmentation of unordered 3D point sets and images, Geometric Documentation and 3D representation and Modelling of Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage, Historic Building Information Modelling (HBIM), Virtual and Augmented Reality applications, Monitoring of dynamically changing environments, Development of multidimensional land information management systems
