*In June 2010 the Government announced that the Regional Development Agencies are to be abolished, including the London Development Agency (LDA) by 31 March 2012. The LDA is now focused on managing transition and closure. Responsible for delivering the Mayor's vision for London to be a sustainable world city with strong, long-term economic growth, social inclusion and active environmental improvement. We are often an unseen partner, but most Londoners are affected by our work. Our investments, influence and innovative approach have made real improvements and help to unlock London's potential. The LDA has been working in partnership with businesses, London's boroughs and third sector bodies - any organisation that can turn our plans for the capital's economic development into action. We have made a difference in six key areas - reflecting the priorities set by the LDA Board and the objectives of the Mayor of London's Economic Development Strategy: * Getting London working * Supporting London's businesses * Building better places in London * Investing in London's low carbon future * Getting the most from the 2012 Games * Promoting London to the world
