ORGANIZATION SUMMARY: United Rocks is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3), youth rock climbing team serving kids ages 3-25 with intellectual disabilities. The focus of the organization is to promote inclusion through rock climbing promoting physical, mental and social skills. Indoor climbing will be practiced in gyms all over the metroplex. United Rocks will take care of all expenses for team members. All membership fees and other expenses will be paid via fundraising and donations. Once we have established a competitive environment of 1,000+ or more kids within the team and with other teams in other cities/states, we will reach out to the Special Olympics committee to include the sport of rock climbing. MISSION STATEMENT: Our mission is to create an inclusion environment for people with intellectual disabilities to promote physical, mental and social skills through participation in rock climbing and eventually include the sport of rock climbing in the Special Olympics. VISION STATEMENT: Our vision is to transform the world, so people with disabilities will be accepted, included and respected and in doing so, they will grow and excel in their lives.
