Driving your innovation – wind tunnels with WBI Founded in 1996 as a wholly owned subsidiary of SBI, WBI is one of the leading companies in the field of aerodynamic, aeroacoustic and thermodynamic testing facilities for research and development. We guide our customers through the whole planning process: from the concept to design and detailed planning, procurement as well as construction supervision to commissioning and final acceptance. From the first idea to the perfect result. For more than two decades, the complementary competences of SBI and WBI have resulted in innovative, holistic and sustainable solutions that define benchmarks worldwide. Our projects range from the integration of aerodynamic testing devices in engine or vehicle test benches to the overall planning of aerodynamic, aeroacoustic or climatic wind tunnels. Success is based on teamwork – the combination and efficient co-operation of our engineers is the basis for delivering turnkey wind tunnel solutions. Together with SBI, our team currently consists of around 70 employees with a wide range of skills. Our employees especially appreciate the flat hierarchies and the open and fair communication within the company. Lead by Example – Sustainability is also a top priority at our location in Lampertheim. Our 2017 extended photovoltaic system has a capacity of approx. 100-Kilowatt peak and is supplemented by an energy storage with a capacity of 40 kWh.
