AFFM's services are for all adoptive, foster and kinship families. Child welfare is dependent upon a myriad of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Decisions concerning families and innocent children are rarely easy and are usually fraught with highly emotional issues. AFFM is dedicated to assisting families in helping children find the security they deserve. Some of the supports and services offered include but are not limited to: Non-judgemental listening support Systems Navigation C.A.R.E.S. Meeting (Support Groups) Peer Mentoring Kinship Network Group Information Guardianship Through Probate How to become a licensed resource family through DHHS (Foster parent) Annual training conference Extensive lending library of books, videos, etc Monthly newsletter The Family Ties Material Goods (clothing, bedding, household items) AFFM discount card program Summer camp scholarships for children Holiday parties Ready Set Go To Learn (RSGTL) provides backpacks and school supplies (when available) to children starting a new school year. Vacation activities for children and families Museum passes Access to Tamarack Cottage in Rangeley Holiday Gift Giving Program Email listserve
