Founded in 2016, Champions of Charity is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization that began as an initiative on campus to encourage students at Ave Maria University to volunteer more of their time to aid the surrounding communities that needed their help. Having discovered an abundance of early success, the founding members of Champions of Charity are determined to inspire charity outside of the university and spread the love of service throughout the world. Champions of Charity achieves its mission in two ways. The first, is the service competition that can be brought into universities, businesses, and other organizations, in an effort to expose participants to the joy and reward of giving themselves through charity work. The second is the charitable foundation, in which Champions of Charity donates school supplies, resources, and scholarships to schools and students in need. Both aspects of the organization fulfill the true desire behind Champions of Charity. That is, to build community through service and provide students in need with the resources they need to optimize their educational experience.
