The Waunakee Chamber of Commerce is one of the areas largest, voluntary partnership of businesses and professionals working together to build a healthy economy and improve the quality of life in the Waunakee/Westport Area. To accomplish our goals, the Chamber must champion many different functions: economic developer and planner, tourist information center, business advocate, economic counselor and teacher, government relations, human resources, and public relations specialist. Our over 300 members are businesses, organizations, and individuals who care about the socioeconomic climate of the Waunakee Area. Our members know that when we are joined together, we stand a better chance of getting things done when speaking with a collective voice. The Chamber is run by its members. The members elect a board who determines the policies and sets goals. The Board President presides over all board meetings. Member involvement is through the work of committees. These can include the Board of Directors, Government Relations, Economic Development, Education, Programs & Events, Ambassadors, Public Affairs, and Community Partnerships. The cornerstone of the Chamber stems from very broad objectives to improve our community's economy and quality of life: We want to help businesses prosper & grow; Increase job opportunities; Encourage orderly expansion & development of all segments of Waunakee; Contribute to the overall economic stability of Waunakee; & Promote the private enterprise system of competitive marketing. In summary, we strive to keep members engaged through committee and board assignments by offering volunteer and networking opportunities. We are strong, active, & influential in how we work at improving the economic vitality of Waunakee that enhances the quality of life for all. Our day to day operations take place in a historic train depot station located in the heart of downtown Waunakee. The Chamber is open to serve the public year round.
