Located right on the legendary Upper Madison River, The Old Kirby Place fishing lodge sits on 15 acres in the middle of beautiful Montana and offers fly fishing aficionados, and those who love spending time in the beautiful outdoors, the ultimate getaway. At The Old Kirby Place we provide comfortable lodging that offers you immediate access to the Madison River — one of the truly great trout fishing rivers in the world. Our historic lodge was constructed with hand-hewn logs, as are our adjoining cabins. The main lodge has three bedrooms, one downstairs and two on the second floor. We also feature three separate cabins, each decorated in true western style that offer visitors a comfortable environment set among natural beauty unlike anywhere else in the world. Our season extends from late May through early October. Those who visit us in late May will see the river and surrounding areas start to come to life. Plants and trees bud with new leaves while bald eagles and other birds and animals emerge for a new season. Those who visit in the summer months will enjoy the area in full bloom. Those who come at the end of the season will see Montana show the first colorful signs of autumn. The Old Kirby Place is located 34 miles south of Ennis, Montana and 38 miles north of West Yellowstone, Montana. Here you are in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone world of fly fishing.
