The Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) is the sole accreditor of Athletic Training programs in the United States, serving nearly 400 professional and post-professional degree programs and residency programs. The CAATE is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). The CAATE is one of the four members of the AT Strategic Alliance, a group of leading organizations committed to the athletic training profession and to the delivery of quality health care to the public. The other member organizations are the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC), the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and the NATA Research & Education Foundation (NATA Foundation).
