The Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington combines interdisciplinary training in the social sciences, professional fields and the humanities to build an in-depth and historically informed understanding of world areas, civilizations, and the global forces and trends that provide the context for them. The Jackson school is named for the late United States Senator Henry M. Jackson in recognition of his remarkable career and devotion to an intelligent foreign policy based on a deep understanding of the diverse regions of the world.
