The Air Forces Advanced Studies Group develops strategists for the United States and its allies. SAASS is a degree granting institution, with qualified graduates receiving an MPhil in Military Strategy. Select graduates can receive the AU PhD in Military Strategy by completing additional training and research requirements, which is also administered through SAASS. SAASS is a school at Air University on Maxwell AFB, in Montgomery, AL. Like all university programs at Air University, SAASS is accredited through Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. All SAASS faculty, both military and civilian, have PhDs and work to provide students with the highest training, worthy of mid-career military officers who will go on to ASG billets following training.
