SVGC Technology Limited
www.svgctechnology.co.ukSVGC Technology Limited offers 'soft' Information Management (IM) technologies which can act in concert with industry-standard 'hard' IM techniques, such as WAN Acceleration and IP-layer prioritisation, to dramatically improve end-to-end network performance. Prioritisation and Filtering of information ensures that a client's most important information is delivered first to their users. (User-defined rules enable a virtual presence/ agent to prioritise information on a powerful combination of Information Type, Information Metadata (e.g. email header) and Content. The Virtual Presence remains online even during end-to-end communication sessions, ensuring that all data is filtered; enabling blocking of unwanted information on low-bandwidth links. The IMU translates all user information types into XML, which significantly reduces the size both for storage and transmission. Gisting rules within the Virtual Presence enable data longer than a specified length, such as long text emails with attachments, to be optionally summarised ('gisted') and/or attachments removed before transmission over the bearer, thus reducing bandwidth. Using the Reachback mechanism, a 'gisted' email recipient may then request transmission of the full version from the source IMU.
