About Open Arms Community Outreach is the only food pantry in Union County serving the city of Monroe and the rest of North Carolina, as well as Lancaster County in South Carolina. We began in the town of Wingate with a vision of providing enough food to 50 families per month. As of 2014, our organization has served about 14,968 individuals. Food That Lasts for Eternity In addition to providing food for the body, we are also focused in taking care of the spiritual health of the people. With about 30 members, our organization leads regular services, Bible study sessions, and Sunday school programs. Mission Statement Open Arms Community Outreach's mission is to fight hunger and change the face of hunger one stomach at a time, to help ensure that no one goes hungry in the city of Monroe, North Carolina, and surrounding areas in Union County. By offering a variety of services, we would like to support and better our community with strong healthy bodies and minds. Ultimately, we are promoting self-sufficiency and the end of hunger cycle in the community, which we work to live in and thrive.
