IHMCo (the Independent Hull and Machinery Consultancy) surveys vessel or equipment damage after failure or casualty has occurred. IHMCo also provides expert opinion, assessment and advice to claim handlers, lawyers and adjusters on matters relating to marine engineering, equipment failures and hull damage. Ieuan (Ian) Dolby of IHMCo, is an ex-chief engineer and technical superintendent, having previously worked with large multinational consultancies in Hong Kong and Singapore on high-profile casualties and on complex damage assessments and repairs. Ieuan has also acted as an Expert in Court and Arbitration and has been providing solid and qualified marine advice to a range of clients for many years. Ieuan follows a back-to-basics survey approach in all his work.
