The Crow's Flight is a walking tour through spectacular rolling hills and historic villages experiencing the cuisine, wines and history of provincial Slovenia. It starts in medieval Maribor and finishes near the Croatian border. This tour retraces the steps of over a hundred prisoners of war eluding Nazi search parties. In 1944 Australian Ralph Churches and Englishman Les Laws led the most successful break-out of Allied POWs in the history of WW2. With the help of the local Slovene Partisans, they travelled 180 miles across mountainous terrain to freedom on foot.
