Parents for Public Schools of Pitt County
www.ppspittcounty.orgParents for Public Schools of Pitt County (PPS-PC) strengthens Pitt County public schools by engaging, educating, and mobilizing our community. Each child in Pitt County, with support from the entire community, will have access to a high-quality public education. PPS-PC is a diverse group of families and community members working together to strengthen public schools through active engagement. We've learned that better education policy, excellent schools, and successful students are most likely when parents are informed advocates for public education – at home, with local leaders and at the General Assembly. Our core programs are PCS Recruitment Tours, Community Conversations, and Parent Engagement Program (PEP). These programs recruit families to our public schools, encourage parents to share ideas and experiences with the school district, and empower parents and community leaders to engage and advocate for their schools at a system wide level. Partnerships with the United Way or Pitt County, Greenville-Pitt Chamber of Commerce, Pitt County Educational Foundation, Delta Sigma Theta and Public Schools First of NC empower us to expand our work through collaboration.
