Tertini Wines

At Tertini, we are dedicated to sustainably producing premium, cool-climate Pinot Noir, Riesling and Chardonnay, as well as alternative varieties such as Arneis, from our high-altitude vineyards perched along Australia’s Great Dividing Range. Nestled above 500m in the Hilltops and over 700m in the Southern Highlands, this ancient volcanic landscape provides fertile and mineral-rich soils, in turn produces wines with beautiful, cool-climate mineral characters that reflect our unique terroir. The first vines in the Southern Highlands region were established where our Yaraandoo Vineyard stands today, by German vigneron Joseph Vogt, who in 1855 recognised the region’s potential to produce quality grapes. Along with his wife Caroline and their nine children, Joseph carved out a living selling his wines to the miners who tracked between the Joadja Creek shale mine and Berrima township. After the original vines were destroyed by bushfire some 60 years later, the area was given over to cattle farming until 2000, when Tertini’s founder Julian Tertini followed in Vogt’s footsteps and re-established vines on the property. Our estate vines are carefully hand tended throughout the year and experience low cropping to ensure the subtle, elegant complexities typical of fruit from these regions end up in the bottle. We believe that to taste and enjoy our wines is to truly savour the wonder of the Great Dividing Range. From our home in the picturesque Southern Highlands to the slopes of the Hilltops, Tertini Wines go above and beyond to deliver a truly elevated wine experience.
