Through use of computers and assistive technology, our clients become more self-sufficient and independent members of the community. Primary Goals - Provide a credible computer training program to persons with disabilities - Provide adequate training and experience to enable students to pursue further education or seek employment opportunities - Provide ways for persons with disabilities to utilize their intellectual abilities, increase their self-esteem - Provide instruction that encourages our students to become self-sufficient, independent members of their community Computer Training: Donka’s signature computer training program uses cutting-edge assistive technology to train students in Microsoft Office and other business applications that will help them meet their individualized goals of help with school work, employment and/or independent computer usage. Mobile Services: Assistive technology assessment and training comes to you on-site at your school, program center or workplace. Train-the-Trainer: Through the Train-the-Trainer program, future and current special educators learn about assistive technology and the use of computers in expanding possibilities for the special needs students in their classrooms. In addition, speech and physical therapists, vocational rehabilitation staff, and other professionals are trained in software and adaptive equipment to encourage their patrons’ independent use of technology. As a nonprofit, 501 (c) 3 organization, Donka raises the dollars to support any gaps in funding for the services listed above. We encourage our students, family members and their friends to support Donka by contributing to our program.
