LiveGlobally: Nourishment for body/mind/heart
www.liveglobally.comLiveGlobally believes nourishing the body, mind and heart will lead to a healthier Earth. Since 2011, our vision has been to improve the lives of individuals through education, nutrition, creative self-expression, increase awareness of global interconnectedness, provide stewardship of the earth's resources, and support children in need. Our organization’s mission is to create and support sustainable programs for the wellbeing of individuals and communities, locally and globally. Our primary project is The Ingrid Education Centre, in the Mantopeni slums in Nairobi supporting 300 students and 12 teachers. Working towards self -sufficiency, we financed the school building and land, ensure teachers and staff wages, healthy food, clean water, sanitary pads, computers and internet. In Durham, we have several local programs: a creative arts exchange and a mindfulness yoga program. Our creative arts exchange supports local artists to develop and maintain sustainable communities. Our mindfulness yoga program is a collaboration with MindBody Centering Yoga, a local trauma-sensitive program, with whom we have developed curriculum of mind-body wellness, “Happy Minds, Health Bodies”, to empower individuals to be their ‘best selves’. We have implemented this program at the Boys and Girls Club of Durham over the past 3 year. Curriculum incorporates movement, fitness, self expression, and creative writing.
