Home Street Music empowers people who have experienced homelessness. Using the healing power of song, we help participants to build community, restore confidence, and reclaim dignity. Home Street Music uses music gatherings to empower people who have lived on the streets of Austin. Led by Austin musicians, each 90-minute music gathering includes jam sessions, sing-alongs, creative activities, and opportunities to share individual work. The first program of its kind, Home Street Music was created in 2017 by Vanessa Lively, a long-time Austin resident, musician, artist, and community activist.
