Sentinel Barriers

www.trapbag.com

Sentinel Barriers TrapBags are a series of trapezoid-shaped bags designed for flood control and mudslide protection. The TrapBag as tall as 10 feet is sloped on one side, vertical on the other and open at the top. They are connected side by side in an accordion like fashion with each cell sharing a common partition, so they are collapsed during storage and deployment. When they are unfolded and installed on the deployment device, they are like a combination of individual cells. The way they are installed on the deployment device is suspended with the top open by unfolding four or five cells at a time and filling them up with dirt or sand if the structure is to be temporary or even concrete, if the structure is to be permanent. Then four or five more cells are unfolded and filled with a steady forward movement. In a 12-hour day, a 4-person team can set up a half-mile long barrier. This is considerably less labor and more cost - effective than other methods currently in use. The cells can be filled with an excavator on tracks, front-end loader,or a concrete pump truck using on-site material, gravel ,sand or a concrete. Each of the cells is self-contained. If one of the cells are compromised, that will not affect the rest of the barrier, which will remain strong and standing. Like a Sentinel.
