COVID-19 has caused tremendous harm to our economy, our health, our education system, and every aspect of our community. To respond and act to lessen the impact, decision makers have relied on accurate data to inform their decisions. That data has at times been unavailable or inaccurate. A lack of actionable data means organizations cannot pivot within their areas of expertise to remain competitive, or expand and capture new opportunities. In October, the CARES ACT grant was awarded to CompassRed to address these problems by standing up the Delaware Data Innovation Lab (DDIL) in an economic development zone in Wilmington, Delaware. The DDIL will initially be organized and developed at CompassRed and later sustained as a stand-alone initiative supported by member organizations who can continue to rely on its data and insight as well as the innovations produced.
