Modern Memoirs, Inc. was established in 1994 because founder Kitty Axelson-Berry wanted to honor her mother's life experiences in archival form. In part, Kitty also wanted to understand how keeping her husband and daughters safe and well-fed became her mother's life mission. Realizing that others would want their own or their parents' memoirs, too, and that books are the most user-friendly, archival, and comprehensive format, Kitty left her job as the editor of an alternative newsweekly and started the business. Modern Memoirs focuses on personal service and high-quality writing, editing, design, and publishing services for clients. We make memoirs happen for them, from inception to publication.
